With a strong manufacturing base, Taiwan is quick to recognise the opportunity for investing in wind energy manufacturing to satisfy demand at home and abroad. The Bureau of Energy under the Ministry of Economic Affairs has set a target of renewable energy contributing to 10% of Taiwan's overall electricity generation by 2010, and wind power is expected to make up to 80% of that renewable energy contribution, and TECO are the latest company to take up the supply chain challenge.
